A couple day ago I received my first HydraFacial and let me just say this. My skin is still GLOWING!
I work in a private resort club which features a fabulous spa, that is exclusive to our membership. I was fortunate enough to get invited up to the spa for a HydraFacial by our Lead Esthetician Andreea, who I absolutely adore! I was a bit hesitant to go at first, so I did some research to figure out what I was going to be putting my troublesome skin through.
I had to go through a lot of hoops to find information on the HydraFacial that wasn’t super vague or just too technical to understand. So, I wanted to share my experience with some of you who might be on the fence about the treatment as well.
So without further ado, here is what you need to know about the HydraFacial.

See, absolutely nothing to fear here! It’s totally harmless, and one of the only resurfacing treatments that doesn’t leave your skin dry and damaged.
One of the biggest perks is that HydraFacial works for anyone and treats everything from acne spots, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, dull skin, or enlarged pores.
Just talk with the esthetician about some of your skin goals and they will recommend a treatment line up that works best for you.
“What exactly is a HydraFacial?”
HydraFacial is a revolutionary new skin resurfacing procedure. The machine combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection to help rejuvenate your skin. Making it one of the first facial skin resurfacing treatment that both exfoliates and moisturizes damaged skin.
If you have been through microdermabrasion or chemical peels ladies, all I have to say is that you need to level up. There is a new skin care god in town and his name is HydraFacial and he won’t leave your skin dry and unprotected.
These before and after pics don’t lie people, it really works and the results are instant!
The major differences I’ve noticed almost instantly after, were less congested pores, faded acne marks, and the texture was a lot smoother. The skin is so soft and smooth now, that it’s made putting on my products a lot easier!
“How Does it Work?”
A HydraFacial consists of 3 main steps: Cleanse and Peel, Extract and Hydrate, then lastly Fuse and Protect. The wand of the machine is constantly flushing out water infused with serums that are completely customizable, all while sucking up the top layer of gunk with light suction.
Cleanse and Peel is the resurfacing step that works to exfoliate your skin. First you start out with a nice little face cleanse followed with steaming, and a hot towel wrapped around your face to open up those pores. Not gonna lie, I kind of wish I had someone to just wash my face like that every morning for me. Next, the Peel comes to play with the HydraFacial Station. The HydraFacial wand generates a fluid vortex over the skin that gently removes pesky impurities and dead skin cells. Leaving you with a fresh new top layer of skin.
Once that’s all finished we get to Extract and Hydrate. The esthetician will swap the tip and switch to begin sucking everything out of your pores while applying the moisturizers simultaneously. If there happens to be any larger zits, the esthetician will then carefully extract those for you as well. This felt so amazing, I can’t even describe it. The entire treatment was very gentle and relaxing, I almost fell asleep.
Lastly, you finish up the treatment with “boosters,” or serums that are customized to your personal skin goals. We went with an acne treatment for me because of my hormonal acne. However, these boosters will work to Fuse and Protect your skin after the treatment, leaving you with a hydrated and glowing look. I seriously looked like a glazed donut hot off the Krispy Kreme press.
After, the last serums were applied Andreea used red and blue light technology on my face for a couple of minutes. The red light is for calming of the skin, while the blue light works to kill any acne causing bacteria. It was a nice and cozy way to wrap this treatment up.
“What are the benefits?”
I would recommend the HydraFacial to anyone looking to work on the appearance of their skin. After the treatment Andreea showed me the murky water filled with floaters of blackheads, dead skin, and god knows what else. It generally gave me a nice and cleaner looking complexion.

All said and done I really enjoyed my treatment, like I mentioned earlier It was pretty relaxing and enjoyable with no discomfort what so ever.
My skin took to the treatment really well, and it just worked for me. So I will absolutely be going back to have this done.
If you’re on the fence about getting a HydraFacial, I would say just go and do it. You have nothing to lose and the results are amazing even after your first time.
The beauty of skin care is that it’s all about what’s best for you.
I would recommend this facial for your first skin resurfacing treatment because of all the benefits you receive. It has the power of resurfacing while giving you a nice glow at the end. I don’t know about you but what’s kept me from getting microdermabrasion was seeing my friends look like mummies and refuse to go anywhere, no thank you.
This experience is totally different. I have always used the term no pain, no gain but this experience was amazing and I saw all of the results I was looking for on the first go! You really can’t beat that.
