While I’m only 24 years old, I decided now is the time to start taking some preventative measures so I can age gracefully. It all started one morning when I was doing my skin care routine and noticed that I was starting to get static lines on my forehead and I basically had a melt down.
Let’s face it, no one wants to admit they’re getting old or starting to look like it either!

I was nervous that I was too young to start, so I scoured the internet reading articles about the treatment. Now I’m not one to over do things, so this has been purely for preventative measures. I thought I’d share with all of you guys my experience & information for those of you who might be looking into getting botox.

“How does Botox work?”
For those of you who don’t even know what the heck Botox is, it’s an injection that blocks certain chemical signals from nerves. It mainly focuses on the signals that causes the muscles in that area to contract. The most common use of these injections is to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes, which is exactly what I was going in for.
“What is a good age to start getting Botox?“
Basically what I found was that if you want to prevent those fine lines that are starting to become present, from becoming full-blown wrinkles, preventative Botox is one of the best options. Also, most experts have agreed that patients in their mid to late 20s and early 30s are at a good age for preventative Botox treatment. I’m around that mid 20’s range and my lines were starting to show so I booked a consultation with 4everyoung in Wellington to see what the injector thought. While I had static lines starting form, it isn’t proven that botox will get rid of them, but because I’m starting at the beginning stages of aging they smoothed out as everything started to tighten up. I don’t know about you, but I’d like to look 24 forever…

“How long is the recovery time?”
Don’t worry you can return to your daily routine immediately after the treatment. Since Botox is an injection, you will have some post Botox “beehives” as the ladies at 4everyoung call it. However, mine went down after about 30 minutes and I was all good! No bruising, no pain, and one happy girl!
Now let’s get to the good stuff!

I have to say I was a little nervous at first but the entire team at 4everyoung was so friendly and welcoming that they really calmed my nerves.
One of my main concerns with cosmetic treatment is that I don’t want to alter my face too much, I want to work with my natural beauty. One of the things that took me a long time to accept was that I love myself the way I was born. When I was younger I wasn’t as confident as I am today, and I think that’s something we all learn as we grow into ourselves.
After I checked in at the front desk, I met with the lead injector Lori Oswald PA-C. We sat down in the treatment room and I started talking about my concerns. I was so relieved to find out I was in really good hands, with one of the best experts in her field.

About Lori Oswald PA-C
Lori is a Board-Certified Licensed Physician Assistant with almost 30 years of experience that genuinely wants you to achieve the most beautiful and natural results. She is highly regarded by her peers and is sought after for her expertise in cosmetic treatments. I was really impressed to find out that she trains other injectors nationwide, so I knew I was getting the best of the best! She really listened to me, and stressed about how much she loves working with patients so they feel confident and look natural. Her passion for aesthetic medicine shone through and I was so happy to find out that I was lucky enough to be having her as my injector!
She took a good look at my face and I asked her if she thought I was too young. She assured me that she sees plenty of patients my age with some of the same concerns, so that was the green light for me to get started. She mapped everything out and went off to get the injection.
To be honest, I’m also not the biggest fan of needles. I’ve had my lips done before and I almost passed out but that’s a story for another time! HAHA
Anyway, you can just tell by the smile on my face, how happy I was to see a tiny little insulin needle used for this treatment. Aside from feeling a tiny little pinch as the needle went in, the entire process was painless and I’d do it again no problem.
Speaking of doing it again, one thing to know is that Botox typically only lasts for about 3-4 months and it generally takes 3-7 days to fully kick in. Since it was my first time, it started to kick in around that 3 day mark but everyone is different. It can end up getting pretty pricy depending on where you go but 4everyoung offers they also offer a unique membership plan for $129 a month.
I have to say it’s been a week since my treatment, and I love my results so much that I had to share with you guys my results. We ended up injecting 22 units in my forehead, and 8 unit off to the side of my eye where crows feet will typically form. You can do the math there but it was 30 units in total.

The pics say it all people! I’m so happy with the way everything turned out that I could cry. My confidence and peace of mind has been restored and I can’t thank Lori and the team at 4everyoung in Wellington enough.
If you’re interested in getting Botox or any other anti-aging treatment I highly recommend going to 4everyoung in Wellington if you live in the area. While it was my first time ever getting botox Lori did such a fantastic job, and the staff really made a great impression on me. I can’t wait to go back and see my favorite team! Thank you for making me feel beautiful again!
Ciao, Xx!
